Vint Hill Yoga

A native New Yorker, Dana was first introduced to yoga while in college. Her curiosity brought her to study Yoga’s history, philosophy and Ayurveda, India’s system of medicine and self-care. She has studied Universal Yoga developed by Andrey Lappa, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Restorative and Yin Yoga. Obtaining Yoga Alliance’s teacher certification at Leesburg’s Flow Yoga Studio in 2013, she continues studies in anatomy, Pranayama, yoga as therapy- customizing yoga to the individual in order for them to adapt a healing practice. PHYSIO and Yin yoga - for athletes looking to support their bodies to avoid or heal injury. Restorative and Yoga Nidra which especially helps people suffering with arthritis, auto immune disease and stress. Expanding her teacher training further to learn how yoga and breath work is successfully being used as an adjunct to clinical therapy for trauma and PTSD, she attended the Trauma Centered Yoga intensive with David Emmerson of the Brookline Trauma Center, Brookline Massachusetts and Beloved Yoga’s Trauma Sensitive Yoga certification in Reston Va. with Heather Hagaman and Maryam Ovissi. With a joyful sense of humor and laughter she is eager to share her 30 years of practice and show how this 4000 year old system of breathing and moving produces a positive state of health and wellbeing in our bodies and minds and that everyone has the ability to learn and “do” yoga.
