Sharon has been practicing yoga for ten years, and teaching for the last six years. She has also been in recovery since 2006. Sharon’s yoga practice is a moving meditation that helps her connect mind and body to heal from self destructive patterns of behavior. It didn’t take long for her to align herself with the ashtanga practice as a natural complimentary practice to her recovery program. She has studied with many authorized Ashtanga teachers, but felt at home when she met Taylor Hunt and his yoga community. She attended the Ashtanga & Addiction Forum at Ashtanga Yoga Columbus in 2017 and enjoys weaving the principles of recovery into her classes.
Her philosophy in teaching yoga is also highly informed by her own issues with chronic physical illness; she believes that this practice is for everyone and most limitations can be worked around with consideration and individual instruction.
