Charlie (6 year old boy) wanted to try hip hop dancing so we tried the class. He loved it!
It was well organised online prior to the class and also at the studio with clear Covid measures etc.
Charlie liked the teacher, the music. He liked the games and interactions. He was very enthusiastic and keen to go back.
Rachel began dancing at the age of 8 in her home town of Adelaide. After high school she moved to Melbourne to study dance at the Victorian College of the Arts and from there travelled overseas, dancing professionally in the UK, Canada and the USA.
Whilst performing with the Pat Graney Company in Seattle, Rachel trained as a Pilates Instructor at Balance Within Pilates Studio under Gail Anderson. After moving back to Australia, Rachel opened Axis Pilates in Surry Hills, NSW, which she ran for 6 years before selling and moving back to her old Stomping Ground, Adelaide.
Rachel founded Stomping Ground Studios in 2014. SGS is the culmination of all of Rachel’s experiences, ideas and inspiration.
In 2016 as a part of dance initiatives inside of SGS Rachel co-founded Dances for a Small Stage Australia, which held performances at SGS as a part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2016 & 2017.
Most recently, in 2019, Rachel trained as a Master Pilates Instructor with Balanced Body Education and has now launched the first ever Balanced Body Pilates Education program in South Australia. Rachel is very excited to be training her first cohort of Balanced Body Pilates Instructors in 2020.
When she’s not in the studio, Rachel is relaxing at home in the Adelaide Hills with her husband Mike, their daughter Sophie and their dog Sandey.
Rachel's vision for SGS is a place where people can share their passion for movement, experience new things, make new friends, get in shape and support each other.
