As a Kundalini Yoga teacher, Cheryl’s mission is to elevate and educate people in the science and technology of Kundalini Yoga & to encourage all to live to their best, most joyful potential! Cheryl was gifted the experience of Kundalini Yoga at a time when she was struggling with her health. An integrative doctor from Boston recommended she try yoga to help heal some of her physical pain. When she started her practice she couldn’t sit in Easy Pose (Sukhasana aka Cross-Legged) or kneel on the ground. At 35 years of age she was facing a long road of pain that was only getting worse. Within three months of practicing and implementing a whole health lifestyle, she was kneeling and gaining strength and flexibility. After her healing stalled, Cheryl was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease, which turned out to be the source of her pain. Managing a chronic illness isn’t easy, but Cheryl finds the tools she has gathered in her yoga practice are an invaluable & integral part of her healing & self-care.
In her experience, she has come to understand the power of this science and technology as a form of medicine. Cheryl had such an intense & transformative experience within the first four years of finding and exploring the practice, she felt called to offer these powerful tools & serve as a teacher. In 2015, Cheryl fulfilled that calling & graduated from the Level I Teacher Training program at the Guru Ram Das Ashram in Massachusetts.
Prior to her transition into teaching, Cheryl spent several years working in veterinary medicine and molecular diagnostics. Although she no longer works in the field, she still serves the community by fostering stray dogs and cats for Ventura County Animal Services. Cheryl is currently working towards her Level II 500-Hour Certification. She is a member of the “Yoga and Body Image Coalition” & “Accessible Yoga Ambassador” communities, which are both dedicated to offering yoga to all in safe and inclusive environments. Cheryl is a devoted yogini and teacher who leads heart forward with her passion for life. Cheryl’s classes focus on breath work, meditation, movement and the inter-connection between mind, body, and spirit, offering students a safe & transformational environment to work at their own pace.
