Japanese Art & Cultural Center

Founded in 2010, the Japanese Art & Culture Center (JACC) is a non-profit organization that has served Silicon Valley's diverse communities around San Jose, California with a mission to foster, develop and promote traditional Japanese arts and culture within the scope of the broader Asian culture. JACC has provided venues to research, train, experience and exchange knowledge about Zen, including the arts, sports and cultural activities derived from it. This Zen-based approach forms the core of  our program to enhance individual integrity, build compassionate character, and foster profound awareness and self-actualization. Over the last decade JACC has been a place where a culturallly diverse group of students and teachers who are interested in learning about Japanese culture through participation in traditional arts can gather and share their knowledge, experience and outlook. It has served as a peaceful, accepting environment where people feel free to openly express their ideas and to form relationiships based on mutual trust and understanding. JACC currently offers traditional martial art classes in karate-do, kendo, iaido, aikido and kyudo as well as Japanese language classes (private lessons & group classes).
