Pacific Ballroom Dance

Rick has been a professional Ballroom Instructor and Competitor for over 25 years. His initial training began as a student of Ballroom Dancing in Tucson Arizona. After competing as a student, he quickly became interested in dancing as a professional and completed a professional training program with Arthur Murray franchised dance schools a year later in 1979. In 1986, Rick became a partner in a Fred Astaire franchised dance school in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he continued his study and teaching of Ballroom dance. Looking for growth opportunities, Rick came to the Pacific Northwest in 1988 and opened his own Fred Astaire School early in 1989. He has been in the Pacific Northwest ever since. He currently operates Northwest DanceSport in Auburn and Gig Harbor. He has competed professionally in American Style Smooth and Rhythm, International Standard and Theater Arts. He currently teaches students and is an active Pro/Am competitor in all categories. Rick became involved with Pacific Ballroom Dance in 2005. He is currently the Programs Director, Dancing Classrooms Teaching Artist, Junior Show Team Director and Adult Class Instructor.
