Come challenge yourself! Continuing the tradition of yoga practice developed by Yoga Master BKS Iyengar and his family, students learn and practice Level II asanas. Examples include: Parivrtta Parsvakonana (Revolved Side Angle pose), Salamba Sirsasana (Headstand*), Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand*) & Ardha Padmasana (Half Lotus Pose). Students deepen their understanding of alignment principles, practical technique, breath awareness, learn to use Sanskrit Asana names and are exposed to basic yoga philosophy. *Inversions may not be physically or energetically appropriate for all students and are not required. Alternative poses offered as needed.
Because in-studio class size is limited, advance registration is highly recommended. In-person class cancellations accepted up to 1 hour prior to the start of class. No shows will be charged. We are a paperless studio. Credit cards and checks only - no cash. Studio will open 15 minutes prior to the start of each in-person class. Studio door will be locked 5 minutes after the start of each in-person class. Late attendance is not possible. Props: We encourage you bring your own props. They may not be stored at the studio. We have some studio props for communal use; including mats, blocks, belts, blankets, bolsters, chairs & more. If you use studio props, please clean and put them away neatly, as indicated by your instructor or studio signage. We have a limited number of mats available for rent. Rental fee is $3.00.
