How do you get a bigger, bolder shimmy that builds a stronger, bolder YOU? Build power, confidence, & endurance in this demanding class that will take you and your belly dance to the next level! You can do more than you think you can, as you challenge your body and your brain to shimmy, travel, & use your arms gracefully. Your confidence in your body and your dance will improve, on and off the dance floor. Now that you’re familiar with the basic isolations of belly dance, and the mechanics of movements are becoming familiar, you’re ready for the next step. This is our ‘Next Level’ class, where we work on strength and speed, coordination, timing, and put together longer routines. Together with others who are also finding joy in a challenge, you’ll drill technique, hip work, zills, and arms. Connect with others, and to the dancer inside of you, too! By learning a short combination, you’ll learn how the moves transition, and flow to the music. Through improvisational exercises, you'll access the dancer in you just WAITING for you to learn to tap in! Not only will you become more confident when you dance on your own, or in front of others, but when you walk through the world, too! Along with technique and musical connection, you’ll learn cultural elements and history of the dance, too, to keep it in context & you understand the history and legacy behind the movement to enhance your embodiment, and connect you to tradition and wisdom. Class is by invitation, for students who are proficient in Belly Dance: Level 1. Come experience the variety and beauty of the Art of Belly Dance! Mondays - Fusion Flavors Wednesdays - Classic Cabaret Saturdays & Monday mornings - Modern Egyptian This class is hybrid, and is also taught in-person.
