Priscilla Cortes, of Ecuadorian and Puerto Rican descent, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her passion for Latin music and dance began at a young age. As a child, Priscilla took Ballet, Tap, and Jazz for three years at Vicky’s Dance Studio, but it was the tropical sounds of Salsa that truly captivated her.In 2011, Priscilla began taking salsa classes at Viva Salsa under the instruction of Kona Luseni. She continued her salsa and Cha Cha Cha training at Salsa Salsa Dance Studio with Jose Rivera and Marcus Gonzalez, where she also performed with the Salsa Salsa Dance Team. After two years of salsa dancing, Priscilla joined Latin Fever Dance Company and later Balmir Latin Dance Company, under the direction of Eric Balmir.With eight years of professional dance experience, Priscilla has performed at various congresses across the United States and internationally, including in the Dominican Republic, Rome, Peru, Cuba, and Hawaii. She has now returned to her roots at Salsa Salsa Dance Studio, where she co-instructs classes.
