About the Class

Cute, sassy, and flirty — Classic Sha’abi is the street dance of the people in Cairo developed in the second half of the 20th century, and the heart of Egyptian popular music in the streets, at weddings, and throughout everyday Egyptian life. In this pop up you will learn a short and fun routine to upbeat music, learn popular Egyptian gestures, be transported through the music and dance to the vibrant atmosphere of the Cairo street life. Some bellydance experienced preferred.   Highly recommended- wear a short dress/ skirt to get into character!
