Mikayla is a dancer and choreographer from Gainesville, Virginia. She began her dance journey at the age of 13, training in Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Acro until graduating in 2021. She was also a member of her high school dance team, where she trained in Pom, Jazz, Kick, Hip-Hop, and Variety styles.After years of training, Mikayla discovered her passion for teaching and sharing the joy that dance has brought her. She currently teaches and choreographs for competitive-level dancers ages 3–19 and serves as a Jazz Funk instructor at N2 Studios.Mikayla has trained and taken masterclasses with renowned groups such as Capital Funk, Culture Shock DC, Urban Empire, and N2, and previously danced with Urban Empire DC before joining her current team, Day One.Her style blends the raw energy of Hip-Hop, the groove of Jazz Funk, and the emotion of Contemporary movement. In her classes, Mikayla begins with a strong, musical warm-up to build strength, rhythm, and control, followed by choreography that encourages individuality, musicality, and performance quality.
