Fighting Arts Collective
My first introduction to yoga was in my late 20’s to Korean style yoga (Dahn Yoga), it is a blend of yoga, tai chi and martial art exercises. I was looking for an outlet to release stress and help me cope with my anxiety. Then in my early 30’s I was introduced to Bikram Yoga through my partner, it was a great opportunity for us to do an activity that we both enjoyed together. My passion to yoga began when I was pregnant with my daughter and joined a prenatal yoga class. I fell in love with the practice and have felt the benefits pretty much right away. I have learned to pay attention to how my body responds and feels through the practice of breath and movement, I have loved and appreciated the opportunity to connect to other mom’s and find an outlet to not only release my physical stressors but my emotional concerns of being a first time mom, I found a community. Through this experience I have grew to love and cherish the practice and I felt the need to share my knowledge with others , so I have continued my journey to become a certified yoga teacher after my daughter was born. This practice has taken many forms as I have continued to study and enrich my knowledge in pre and post natal yoga, kids yoga, restorative, Mat Pilates, Mindfulness and Meditation. The most important part of my practice that I would like to offer my students is staying true to oneself, free of self judgment through the practice of presence, connectedness between breath and movement that will lead to personal growth.
