NameEric LeeWhere do you usually teach and train?HAMAHAMAJiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, or both?JiujitsuHometownPhoenix, AZCurrent RankBlack BeltWhat year did you start training?2006How did you get started?I was training in a more self-defense oriented martial art that included some basic grappling and I wanted to get more specific training in JiujitsuWhat's the biggest challenge you've encountered in your training, and how did you overcome it?There are so many things...learning how to flow, timing, weight distribution, name one and I’ve probably struggled with it. Time and consistent training are the best ways to make your game better. One day things start to fall in place. What's your favorite thing about training or teaching, and why?I love seeing my students use something I teach in a live roll. That moment when something clicks in their mind and they can make it a part of their game is very rewarding. What are your personal goals on and off the mat?My goals are always to stay consistent with my training and refine my game every time I train. To always be a student as well as a teacher. What's something people might be surprised to learn about you? Most people are surprised when they learn I’m a cancer survivor. I’ve had to take some long breaks from Jiujitsu for illness, injuries, and everything else that life throws at you. The beautiful thing about Jiujitsu is it’s always there waiting for you to come back and pick up where you left off.
