Miguel Villarreal started training boxing and Muay Thai with Luis Hernandez in 2012 at age 14 years old and continued his striking training consistently. About a year later, Miguel started grappling doing Brazilian jiu jitsu, judo, and wrestling. Miguel received his brown belt in December 2021 by Mike Cejias from MCunit BJJ.  Miguel has MMA experience 5 amateur fights, and 2 Amateur Muay Thai fights and has remained very active in Brazilian jiujitsu competitions all his grappling tenure. Miguel was the Kids Striking program head coach at Uprising for several years before he stepped up to the challenge to oversee the Brazilian jiujitsu program at Uprising MMA with an estimated student count of 200.
