About the Class

Han Tai Chi is a mind/ body practice that involves a gentle series of movements and stretches. Slow and deliberate movements are done in a soft flowing pattern with a focus on mindfulness and breath work. Tai chi originated as an ancient martial art in China and over the years, it has become more focused on health promotion and rehabilitation. It is ccelebrated for its health benefits including muscle strengthening, flexibility, balance, mental focus, and endurance.   Han Tai Chi is designed to help strengthen the core muscles of the back, abdomen, legs, arms while increasing flexibility and balance.  In this low impact, slow motion class we will go through a series of movements while breathing deeply and naturally. These movements are infinite and not forced. This relaxed state of being allows the you to focus your attention on your bodily sensations.  * Classes are available to all levels and ages. * We have chairs available for use in classes. * Always check with your doctor before taking on any new forms of exercise.   Tai chi has many physical and emotional benefits.
