Therapeutic massage is a type of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practice that is often used to treat muscle pain, injury, and stiffness. Massage therapy has also been used for the treatments of mental and emotional problems, including stress, anxiety, and depression.
Before Massage: Stay hydrated and avoid eating a heavy meal at least an hour before your massage to ensure comfort during the session. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and arrive a few minutes early to relax and discuss any concerns or preferences with your therapist. If you have any medical conditions or injuries, inform your therapist beforehand to ensure a safe and effective treatment. After Massage: Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins and reduce soreness. Avoid strenuous activities immediately after the session, allowing your body to fully absorb the benefits of relaxation and muscle relief. Some mild soreness may occur, but gentle stretching and rest can help ease any discomfort. Taking a warm bath or shower can further enhance relaxation and muscle recovery.
