The classes are a safe and supportive space in which we can feel free to be ourselves and connect deeply to our inner being, truth and creative power. This is a meditative practice so we will have our eyes closed as much possible. All levels welcome and no previous experience necessary. Tuning in - We prepare ourselves for our practice by chanting a mantra that connects us to all of our teachers and consciously connects us to our higher selves and inner wisdom Pranayam - Using the rhythm and depth of the breath, we can effect and manage different states of health, consciousness and emotion Warm up – to prepare ourselves for the kriya Kriya – or ‘completed action’ is a series of asana or exercises that have a theme and aim Relaxation or shavasana with gentle sound healing Mantra meditation - we chant together or mentally vibrate a mantra Tuning out – We close our practice by singing The Long Time Sunshine Song and chanting three long Sat Nams. Kundalini Yoga is a set of tools to increase our self-awareness and to bring our whole selves back to balance. It includes physical postures and movements (asana), meditation, breathing exercises (pranayam), hand positions (mudra) and chanting (mantra). Kundalini is Sanskrit for “the coil of the hair of the beloved”, which symbolises the uncoiling of the inner awareness of our spiritual nature, which lies as dormant creative potential at the base of the spine. Through the practice of Kundalini Yoga, we can awaken that potential, raise our awareness and deepen our relationship with ourselves and others.
