About the Class

You might be asking “what in the world is that?” Ruah Elohim (also spelled Ruach) is an ancient Hebrew name for God most closely related to BREATH, SPIRIT and WIND. This Hebrew name for God is first seen in the creation story of Genesis in Genesis 1:1-2“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the "Spirit of God" (Ruah Elohim) was hovering over the waters.” Yoga is the Sanskrit word translated as UNION or TO YOKE. Traditionally the practice of yoga aims to yoke the breath with movement. Yogic philosophy is deeply rooted in connecting the mind, body and spirit. Which is often seen as fragmented or separated parts of the self by western thinkers. In Ruah Elohim Yoga we utilize “yoga”- breathing and stretching, to yoke ourselves to the Holy Spirit. This can act as a way for us to connect with God not just with our minds intellectually in reading or writing, but with our entire beings, spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally.
