Megan’s first exposure to yoga was workout videos by Denise Austin, but it wasn’t until college that sheexperienced the many benefits yoga has to offer. After using yoga as a form of physical therapy torecuperate from a number of injuries, as well as productive way to deal with stress, anxiety, and grief,Megan decided to become certified in yoga in hopes of sharing the transformative power a holisticapproach to health can have on one’s well-being. Megan holds the highest level of certification in yogateaching (E-RYT 500), as well as a certification in prenatal/postpartum yoga (RPYT), and a Master’sDegree in Exercise Science & Sports Management with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. Hergraduate thesis addressed the benefits of yoga on exercise consistency, mental health, and self-esteem.In 2020, Megan developed and wrote her own 200 hour yoga teacher training curriculum and lead herfirst training in 2021. She especially loves assisting students into a deeper practice through anunderstanding of body mechanics, the physiology of breathing, and the calming power of meditation.With her background in dance, Megan couples principles of fluidity and the breath with an importantunderstanding of anatomy and alignment. Her passion is to provide students a safe haven for others toheal, restore, and flourish in their health journey that they may create ripples to others in their lifeseeking wholeness. Megan’s mantra as a teacher hearkens to a prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (paraphrased) ,“…may I be an instrument of peace. Where there is hate, let me sow love. Where there is hurt, let mebring healing. Where there is darkness, let me be light…” Megan regularly teaches beginner, vinyasa flow, hatha, yin, restorative, prenatal/postpartum, andpower yoga classes, as well as private lessons and workshops. Among the most requested private lessonand workshop themes are: Ayurveda 101, Introduction to Arm Balances, Prenatal and Postpartum Yoga,Introduction to Alignment, The Limbic System and Yoga, and Cultivating a Home Meditation and YogaPractice.
