Yin Yoga

About the Class

Ying yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles. The Kripalu Flow & Vinyasa classes focus on your muscles, while yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts. The class is an hour and fifteen mintues and will have relaxing ambient music as a guided background. The class will end with live sound healing.  

Special Instructions

Please wear comfortable clothes and dress warm enough. If you have a mat, blocks, a strap, a blanket and a bolster, please bring them to class. If you do not have these items, you can borrow them from the studio and they will be cleaned afterwards. Please note that since you are holding poses for long periods of time, you will be in a state of stillness and it is a good opportunity to just be with yourself.
