I believe yoga is for everybody. One of my missions in this lifetime is to inspire others to see its transformational powers. Yoga can heal the Whole Person - inside and out. I have practiced Yoga Asana since my teen years, but only in the last few years have I begun to dig into the sacred scriptures and philosophical teachings. In 2021, I became a 200 hour RYT through the Raja-Hatha School of Yoga and further dove into Svadhyaya (self-study). In addition to my Yoga training, I am a certified Elementary School teacher and Holistic Health Coach with experience teaching K-2nd grade, SEL (social-emotional learning), mindfulness, yoga, and dance in the schools. I am certificated in Dance/Movement Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Hancock Center for Dance/Movement Therapy as well as specialized certifications in Laban Movement Analysis, Violence Prevention through Movement, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. I am passionate about a holistic approach to learning, integrating emotional, social, psychological, kinesthetic, and ethical development into my work for a holistic approach to learning and development. I have spent the last decade working directly with students grades K-12 in community centers and elementary schools around Madison, WI, nationally in Washington DC and San Diego, and Internationally in Panama City, Panama and Lurin, Peru. Through this experience, I created a yoga curriculum for Elementary students that prioritizes both culturally responsible learning and brain-and-body compatable education. I look forward to sharing this curriculum with my students and sharing my love of this practice with everyone that chooses to learn with me.
