How long have you been playing piano, and what level of RCM have you achieved?I have been playing piano for over 20 years and have a Masters in music performance from Mannes School of Music.Which method do you prefer to teach in?This depends on the student's goals and current skill level. For beginners I use piano adventures and focus on building strong fundamentals in technique and musicianship. For intermediate and advanced learners I encourage students to follow their musical interests and I will be there to help guide them, whether that means learning classical works, pop songs, jazz/improvising or going through the RCM curriculum. What ages and levels do you enjoy teaching the most?I enjoy teaching children and adults alike! Working with kids is tons of fun and I love seeing their progress, at the same time I appreciate that older students tend to be more driven and have clearer goals. What is something creative that you do in lessons which is unique to you?I love pushing students to be creative, beyond simply reading and performing notes on a page. I provide the tools to understand how music functions so you will be able to improvise, compose, make arrangements and even have more expressive interpretations of sheet music.Three words your students would use to describe you:Creative, Encouraging, Patient :)
