a) How long have you been playing piano, and what level of RCM have you achieved? I have been teaching piano for over 5 years at the United Conservatory of Music in Calgary before moving here for University. I started piano when I was 7 years old. For most of my music career, I have obtained First Class Honours and First Class Honours with Distinction. Recently, I received my Level 10 certificate. I have a background in classical guitar with the completion of RCM Level 6. All in all, I love my instruments and I love music! b) What method do you prefer to teach in, if any? I am capable of teaching any genre of music although my main experience is from teaching classical music with RCM. I have prepared numerous students for music competitions using RCM and non-RCM material which include: duets, pop music, classical, jazz, etc. I am willing to help achieve the goals the student sets out whether it is competitive or through personal achievements. c) What ages and levels do you enjoy teaching the most? I am comfortable with teaching any age and any level up to Level 6 RCM. d) What is something creative that you do in lessons which is unique to you? Over the course of teaching at the United Conservatory of Music in Calgary, I have substituted for many of my coworkers and have gathered different ways to teach my students. I have multiple tips and tricks to teach complex concepts in a fun and engaging way. I am vocal and interactive during the lesson and I will sing to help you bring out the melody. e) Three words that your students would describe you as.
