a) How long have you been playing, and what level of RCM have you achieved?Yovela has been playing piano for 20 years and has a Diploma in Piano Performance from the London College of Music (equivalent to Grade 10 RCM).b) What method do you prefer to teach in, if any?Yovela teaches classical piano through the use of Faber Piano Adventures and other method books, and prepares students for the RCM exams. She also teaches students who want to learn piano for pleasure and develops lesson plans for them so that they can enjoy learning to play their instrument with a repertoire and pace that suits them. She develops musicianship and technique by including reading music notation, composition, ear training and music theory in her lessons.c) What ages and levels do you enjoy teaching the most?Yovela enjoys teaching students of all ages. She is experienced in teaching students aged 6 years and older, at the beginner and intermediate RCM levels.d) What is something creative that you do in lesson which is unique to you?A creative component of Yovela's lessons includes musical games centred around rhythm practice and knowledge of music notes, symbols and terms. She also does themed lessons where students get to learn themes from popular movies or shows, and songs related to holidays or special occasions.e) Three words that your students would describe you as.Patient, Encouraging, Friendly.
