Aaron’s influences span a variety of genres, including rock, blues, gospel, and funk, with a special appreciation for artists like Steely Dan, Chet Atkins, Stevie Wonder, and Take 6. These diverse inspirations have shaped his approach to music and teaching, giving him a unique ability to connect with students of all interests and skill levels.Encouraged by his own guitar teacher, Aaron started teaching music while still in high school. Teaching quickly became a passion, and he continued giving lessons throughout college while studying at Vol State Community College and afterwards, studying Music Composition at MTSU. During his time at Vol State, Aaron performed with the Vol State Performers, playing guitar for the group and gaining valuable experience on stageAfter college, Aaron expanded his musical horizons by joining The Young Americans, where he dabbled in musical theater and spent three years performing and teaching throughout the country. After returning to Tennessee he pursued his true calling-teaching.For over 20 years, Aaron has been dedicated to helping students discover their creativity, build confidence, and enjoy the process of learning music. Aaron is a multi-instrumentalist with a knack for versatility- Aaron teaches guitar, piano, bass, and voice, as well as banjo, drums, dulcimer, violin, melodica, and beginner viola and cello. His goal is simple: to make learning music fun, accessible, and inspiring for every student he works with.
