Yoga Teacher
The Hive Fitness and Yoga Studio
Lori started practising yoga 20 years ago during a time when she was searching for something more than her regular gym workouts. She stumbled across an amazing teacher at an old church hall in East Vancouver way back before yoga was mainstream and “cool”.She loved the way that yoga made her feel. It felt like a gift, like she was doing something good, loving and nurturing for herself rather than enduring a punishment (which is sometimes how she felt about working out).Yoga has been a constant in her life ever since and has seen her through many physical and emotional challenges. No matter what, she always seems to find her way back onto her yoga mat, willing and ready to start over once again even if sometimes that looks like just a simple Childs pose, her mat is “home”.For her yoga is about movement, self discovery, learning and acceptance, the release of Ego and the creation of space in body, heart and mind.In 2008 she decided to deepen her practice and took her first 200 hr YTT at Open Door Yoga in Vancouver. A few years later she discovered Hot Yoga and completed her 100 hr Hot Yoga Teacher Training at YYoga in Vancouver. Lori has completed a Yoga for Scoliosis course with Noah Maze and has completed several other online courses over the years. She has been sharing her love for yoga with students since 2009 and has hosted many workshops and retreats all over B.C. Having moved around a lot, she has enjoyed teaching in many different settings to a wide range of clientele with varying class sizes ranging from 2 people to 22.She specializes in Vinyasa flow, Power flow and Hot yoga. Some previous yoga experience is suggested for my classes but not necessary. She is happy to work with you offering alternatives if you are recovering from injury or just starting out in your yoga journey.Lori is grateful for this practice, for the community it creates and the lessons it teaches. She looks forward to practicing with you at The Hive.
