Boxing 101

About the Class

Learn boxing skills and build tons of confidence without getting punched in the face! We LOVE the basics and there’s A LOT you can do with them Expect to start off with skipping followed by some bodyweight exercises like squats, jumping squats, lunges, push ups and very light dumbbell work!  After you’re all warmed up, we will teach you how to put the boxing wraps on each of your hands so that you have full protection of your knuckles and wrist to prepare you for punching a heavy bag or boxing pad.  We will then go over a technical lesson plan that we practice for at least 10 minutes until you feel comfortable with the material, movements and punches. You will often do partner work and learn how to hold the boxing pads safely and effectively.  You will also learn how to hit the heavy bag and apply the lesson plan with power! We will generally end the class with core exercises and a full body stretch! You will be given a gift of a sanitary wipe to disinfect the equipment you used to help keep our gym clean and pristine! .
