This class is specifically designed to increase mobility through the entire body by blending a variety of effective stretching techniques. The class will help open tight areas of the body and assist in rehabilitation from sports injuries or repetitive stress tightness. All levels are welcome to join this class and modifications will be given to make sure that everyone can work at their own level. The class does involve laying down and sitting on the floor and will combine some deeply held stretches along with dynamic movement stretches to leave you feeling loosened up and cleansed afterward. We sometimes utilize props – A yoga block and long strap and the Gliding Discs, but modifications are given for those without these items. You will need at least 6 feet of floor space on a flat floor to move around on. Please wear clothing that is comfortable to move in and no shoes (socks are ok). Some stretches do involve held positions so if you know your muscles are tight, it is sometimes helpful to have a sturdy, elevated surface like a yoga block to assist you when needed. We occasionally utilize the Gliding Discs from the KSF Equipment bundle or a yoga strap (a long sturdy belt works too!) for holding positions. Modifications will be given throughout, and you are encouraged to only work at the level you always feel comfortable in. Feel free to ask questions during class!
