Balance Studio InstructorYogaMcKenzie's yoga classes combine breath, posture, and movement cues that will allow you to follow along no matter your experience level. Classes will be challenging at times and will always have space for reflection and restoration. When McKenzie found yoga in 2011, she was an athlete who was looking to gain flexibility. While she was excited to finally be able to touch her toes, she also realized there were many more benefits to her practice that couldn't be seen. When practicing, she was more grounded, resilient, positive, and strong. She felt lighter and more capable. It became a personal goal to bring every single one of her friends to class at least once so that they could try it and experience these benefits too. With the encouragement of her friends, McKenzie received her 200-hour Yoga teaching certification and a 50-hour extension certification from CorePower Yoga in 2019. Supporting others on their health and wellness journeys has been a common thread in McKenzie's life and work. She began coaching softball in 2015 and continues to work with the Fergus High team to this day. While in college at the University of Montana, she started working at Orangetheory fitness and went on to manage a studio in Colorado Springs after graduating with her Bachelor's Degree in 2018. From there, she got into social work and currently works full-time as the Prevention Specialist for Fergus and Petroleum counties. Outside work, yoga, and softball, she enjoys getting outside on a trail with her dog and fiance, any water-related activities, and spending time with her family.
