POW - Level 1

About the Class

Our introductory weightlifting course!  In Level 1, athletes learn the basic fundamentals of olympic weightlifting, as well as the terminology our coaches use  to instruct.  There is no set timetable when an athlete progresses to the next level of the program.  What we look for as coaches is if the athlete can safely perform the lift with little to moderate weight, understands our terminolgy we use for future instruction and if its age approriate to move the athlete to the next level (younger athletes will stay in the Level 1 class time but may potentially move up to Level 2 programming). *Level 1 is not designed as a heavy resistance training program.  The focus is on repetition with proper bar path mechanics.  Athletes “graduate” or “earn” weight on the bar by demonstrating everything previously listed above*
