What to Expect Attire Students will dance barefoot—no partner needed! Please wear comfortable exercise clothing like yoga pants or sweats. Students are encouraged to bring a skirt for the Flamenco-inspired choreography. Warm-ups We’ll begin with ballet/modern warm-ups focused on strengthening the feet, improving posture, and developing balance. Flamenco Flamenco technique will include brazeo (arm work), palmas (rhythmic hand claps), and foundational theory. Students will learn a short choreography set to traditional Flamenco music. About Drea Pacot Drea’s dance persona is Drea La Flamenca. A lifelong dancer, she believes movement is a powerful expression of emotion. She is a Flamenco artist who teaches at Austin Flamenco Academy and performs regularly at El Raval Tapas Restaurant and The Rosette in Austin. Before Flamenco, Drea studied modern dance at the University of California, Davis, and also trained in ballet. She later moved to Texas to be closer to family and to study acupuncture at AOMA. Now she spends her time dancing and healing! Drea has taught adult classes for over a decade and is excited to bring her talents to Ripple Effect Studio.
