What an incredible first-time float and sauna experience. The Floatation Center has been on my radar for over a year, but I was always stuck on the question of: would it be worth it, value proposition? The answer of course is a resounding yes, and I wish we had gone sooner! All the staff I interacted with were beyond friendly and incredible. Virtually they assisted me with booking a float for two, followed by a sauna treatment for a birthday surprise for my fiancé. Upon arrival we were thoughtfully walked through all the helpful tips and need to knows of being first time floaters. I was nervous that 75 minutes would be too long for my distracted brain, but time honestly flew by and I could have been in there even longer and would have still been enjoying it. My fiancé has ADHD, so this was another anxious point for me, that he would loathe being trapped in the float, but reddit convinced me to try as there was mixed community feedback that some people loved it and some people didn't tolerate it well. For him, thankfully for me, he was in the loved it crowd. He raved about the float experience all day. He is the body type that typically sinks like a rock in water, so having an opportunity to truly float without tension was something incredibly novel and relaxing. The sauna was also fantastic. Again, everything well explained and set up for us as soon as we were finished our float. I was anxious that logistically it might be awkward transitioning from one treatment to another, but it was zero issues. The heat was amazing. They also offer a beautiful shower space with cold plunge bucket (which is indeed very cold lol). The space is so artfully curated. It's such a vibe to relax in. Already dreaming of when we can make time to go back and potentially try out other services. Such an incredible gem of a place that seems like a secret Halifax is keeping. Thank you Floatation Center for such a beautiful and thoughtful birthday experience. 11/10. Much love.
