Michelle Lucatorto began practicing yoga in 1992 after experiencing a running injury. Although she initially came to yoga hoping to increase her physical flexibility, she now cherishes the profound impact yoga has had on her emotional and spiritual journey throughout life.Michelle has had a professional career as a nurse, nurse practitioner, and nurse scientist, approaching each patient as a unique individual and expertly blending science with patient choice. While working at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), she completed a year-long Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training program and delivered MBSR services to Veterans. She also created and led a national weekly virtual mindfulness program for healthcare workers within the VHA.Michelle believes yoga helps individuals become the best version of themselves while fostering a strong sense of community. She values the underlying principles of the 8 Limbs of Yoga and thoughtfully incorporates these concepts into her teaching. Michelleaims to bring a sense of playfulness to yoga through fun and sometimes challenging flows, offering options suitable for both new and experienced yogis. Her greatest wish is for students to feel connected and joyful after attending her classes. Michelle looks forward to seeing you in a class she guides or one she is taking at the Center.
