Simply Balanced
Kelsi’s yoga journey began in 2017, after years of intense athletic training, she sought to develop amore compassionate, caring relationship with her body. What began as a strictly physical experience of yoga (the“asana”) gradually expanded to include the dhyarna, yoga’s introspective branch, and soon Kelsi realized whatyoga had to offer as a source of sacred, spiritual guidance. Her practice evolved into one of patience andobservation, not simply mastering challenging poses. Kelsi credits Chloë Craver at Lotus Yoga for helping her cultivate this practice and helping develop her love for yoga.As her practice deepened, Kelsi wrote and taught sequences for her friends and community, and in completed a 200-hour teacher training through Stanford’s YogaX. In this program, Dr. Christiane Brems and Geno Carvalho taught Kelsi the foundations of restorative, holistic yoga.Today, Kelsi describes her practice as accessible, sacred, and joyful. She uses invitational cues, notcommands, as a means of helping individuals create a rewarding experience on the mat. Presently, she focuses on Vinyasa and Hatha practices, cultivating an awareness of the sacred intersection of mind, body, and breath. She loves triangle pose, and as a teacher, she is particularly interested in holding space for beginners in the practice, as well as bringing yoga to people who have historically had limited access. Growing up as the niece to a wonderful uncle with Down’s syndrome, she is particularly interested in creating and holding space for people with various abilities.Kelsi can’t wait to meet you on the mat soon and hopes that yoga can cultivate some joy in your life!
