YWCA O‘ahu is the best-kept fitness secret in downtown
Honolulu. Our historical site, YWCA Laniākea (1040 Richards
Street), offers a wide range of activities and amenities, including
a full-length basketball court, group classes, a heated outdoor
pool, fitness center, personal training and more.
Laniākea literally translated from Hawaiian means “open
skies” or “wide horizons.” This name befits both the open-air
design of the building, and YWCA Oahu's mission of opening
doors for women and the community. A haven of stunning
architecture, Laniākea features spacious corridors and a
courtyard that provides a sense of respite in the heart of
Hawaii's largest city. 
Opened in 1927, Laniākea is landmark that has
withstood many different eras and many different societal needs. It
has endured as a hub of aloha for the community, housing
health and wellness resources, as well as programs for personal and
professional development for women.
