Relieving Chronic Pain Patterns A trigger point is a passively contracted bundle of muscle fibers that are caused by repetitive motions, posture or traumas. This can lead to chronic pain and eventually lead to decreased range of motion. TPT is not a massage. It is a technique that can be used to reduce or eliminate chronic pain. In a TPT session, the therapist works on one muscle at a time in a slow and methodical method searching out trigger points within the muscles. As each trigger point is found, it is held with soft steady pressure until it releases, and the pain will fade away. Recommended for: Frozen shoulder, chronic migraines, TMJ dysfunction, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, Thoracic outlet syndrome and many other chronic pain syndromes.
