About the Class

To do “yoga” is to do balance. The balance in yoga is through the Yin and Yang. While not exclusively, most often our classes are yang in nature; active, heating, function-oriented with sun/male energy, whereas Yin is passive, cool, substance-oriented with moon/female energy. This 75-min class takes the principles of Yin Yoga; yielding, allowing and nourishing, and works them in to a class that targets “yin” tissues such as: ligaments, joints, fascial networks. We do fewer poses, while holding them longer and do so with support or props to get into the body at a deeper level. This class finishes with 12-15 minutes of meditation which benefits the mind and body for an overall sense of simultaneous rest and rejuvenation.
