Founder and Instructor
The Yoga Room
Elizabeth Shannon, Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, RYT-200Elizabeth is the founder and former owner of The Yoga Room. She completed her 200 hour certification at Yogafly in 2015. The first yoga class she taught was the very class of The Yoga Room on January 18, 2016 at 5:30am! (Talk about sink or swim!) "My teaching journey is very much parallel to my journey as a student, and well... as a human. It started one way, quite simple, and has evolveed in ways that only life circumstances (physical and mental) could facilitate. Patience with the process is the most common intention you'll hear in my class, as cliche as that quote has become. It's just so very necessary and it is very much a practice! Because the journey is anything but linear, it requires patience, with a little gratitude and grace sprinkled in." You can expect a thoughtful and intentional flow in her classes. Physically challenging at times, but plenty of sweetness layered in for a balanced experience. Modifications are always offered as are reminders to meet yourself exactly where you are in the moment, whether you are brand new or no stranger to your mat. Everyday is a new day. Every practice a new practice. An opportunity to hit reset or to stay the course. You can also expect an equally, if not MORE thoughtful and intentional playlist! "Music has been an important part of my life since the womb! Sharing music is one of my love languages and one of my favorite things about teaching yoga. It's the universal language and (like memes) is a reminder that we are in this thing together. Not all yoga incorporates music, and I understand why, but at The Yoga Room... we do music!"
