Yin Yoga: Deep Stretch & Connective Tissue Release Yin Yoga is a quiet, grounding practice that focuses on releasing tension and opening up the deeper layers of the body. In this class, we target the connective tissues, including the fascia, ligaments, and tendons, using props to enhance each posture. Poses are typically held for 3-5 minutes (and sometimes longer), allowing time for the muscular system to relax fully, so we can access the deeper layers of the body. This practice is designed to create gentle, therapeutic stress on the ligaments and tendons, encouraging cellular regeneration and increasing flexibility and mobility. We'll begin with a breathing exercise to help center your mind and bring awareness to your body, preparing you for deep, conscious breathing throughout the class. Through longer holds and the use of props, we’ll work deeply into the hips, pelvis, lower spine, and connective tissues, helping to open and release areas of tension. The class is suitable for all levels of students, whether you're new to yoga or an experienced practitioner. We will conclude with a brief guided meditation to help you find stillness and carry the benefits of the practice into your day. This class is a wonderful complement to more dynamic, yang-style practices, helping to restore balance and bring a sense of calm and vitality. Class is NOT heated. Room will be WARM from previous classes. Must be 16 years or older to attend.
For your own comfort, please bring bolsters or blankets to enhance your practice and experience. Class Policies & Important Information: Arrive Early: Please arrive 10-15 minutes before class starts. Doors will lock promptly at the beginning of class, and we cannot guarantee access if you arrive late. Waitlist Information: If you're on the waitlist, this does not automatically secure your spot in class. You will receive an email and text notification if a spot opens up. If you're still on the waitlist when you arrive at the studio, please be prepared to wait until the class begins to see if a spot becomes available. Pre-Registration: We highly encourage all students to pre-register for classes. Walk-ins are not guaranteed a spot, especially for popular classes, so registering in advance is your best option. Weekday Class Cancellations: For weekday classes, no-shows or late cancellations (less than 1 hour before class time) will result in a loss of one class from your Class Pack or a drop-in charge. To avoid a penalty, please cancel at least 1 hour before class begins. Weekend, Thursday & Holiday Classes: All members (including unlimited members, class pack holders, and drop-ins) will be charged a **$20 no-show/late-cancel fee** if they fail to show up or cancel less than 1 hour before class. In addition, class pack holders and drop-in members will lose a class from their account.
