Veterans Yoga Project
Kathy served in army aviation as an Apache crewchief, and is an army wife of 30+ years. After sustaining extensive injuries to her abdomen and pelvis while on active duty, she turned to yoga as a way to heal physically, spiritually and emotionally. After fifteen years of regular practice she trained at her local studio to teach vinyasa and yin yoga; then later became certified in Mindful Resilience Training through Veterans Yoga Project. Known for her compassion-centered philosophy, she accepts her students exactly as they are. Kathy helps students focus on their strengths in order to leave the mat feeling both encouraged and empowered to deepen their practice. Kathy believes that yoga is for every body. When not on her mat you can find Kathy riding her e-bike around Colorado Springs, mentoring young army wives, entertaining her two cats, baking desserts, puttering in her garden, swapping stamps and postcards with people around the world, and volunteering with a local hospice.
