Samantha Okumura is a yoga instructor with over 9 years of experience teaching group and private classes. She believes that yoga is a powerful tool for healing physical and emotional trauma, and her classes prioritize intelligent sequencing, alignment, and the subtle aspects of the practice to help students build a sustainable and strong self-care practice.Samantha has taught vinyasa, hatha, and restorative yoga classes in the Bay Area and Las Vegas, specializing in adaptive yoga for neurological injuries and disorders as well as pain management. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and holds several certifications, including 200 Hour YTT Dragonfly Yoga + Wellness, ACE Personal Trainer, and ACE MediCupping.Samantha has recently expanded her teachings to include Pilates Reformer classes. She brings a bit of yoga zen into Reformer classes founded in traditinoal Pilates techniques. In her approach to teaching, Samantha prioritizes fluidity while remaining grounded in anatomy. She encourages her students to discover their own spirituality and connection to something universal through their yoga practice.Outside of yoga and Pilates, Samantha enjoys spending time with her family in nature, reading fiction, and crafting.
