Magic Carpet Yoga

Born and raised in Karnataka, India - the birthplace of modern yoga - my journey began with an early flirtation with yoga before I found my rhythm in music. I studied at Berklee College of Music and enjoyed a successful career as a performer and composer. However, in my late twenties, I heeded the call of yoga once again at the Iyengar Institute in Pune. This sparked a 15-year commitment to Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga, studying under M S Viswanath, the senior disciple of Sri Pattabhi Jois. I further expanded my knowledge by learning from renowned Iyengar Yoga teachers such as Birjoo Mehta and Dr. Rajalakshmi. As an E-RYT500 certified and Authorized Ashtanga Yoga Teacher with over 10,000 hours of teaching experience, I blend Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative styles in my teachings. Yoga, to me, is about transcending negativity and tapping into our pure, positive essence. As a teacher, I strive to guide students towards inner bliss and away from suffering. I aim to inspire a journey filled with peace, love, and joy, blending wisdom with creativity, and discipline with approachability. While my musical chords may not resonate on stage as often, the symphony of yoga echoes in every class, inviting all to dance to life's rhythm, one asana at a time.
