The Breath In Yoga   The breath is utilized in four ways within the practice of yoga. First to cleanse (kriya) Next to regulate the flow of movement (Ujjāyi) Then to bring stillness in prāāyāma (kumbhaka) And finally, to deepen stillness (nirodha) in meditation (samyama) In the great texts of Haha Yoga, it is said there is no yoga practice without the breath. In this 6hr immersion, we will explore how this works. The first 3hr session will explain and explore kya and ujjāyi through forcefully breathing and graceful vinyāsas. The second 3hr session will examine prāāyāma, the use mantra in therapeutic vinyāsa and the breath in sayama, the practice of meditation. You can expect to leave with a greater understanding of yoga as an art. The art of bringing peace to the mind and health to the body.
