An empirically informed, clinically tested program consisting of a variety of techniques that help connect the body and mind. Tools include breathing techniques, Yoga poses and flows, a guided rest known as “Yoga Nidra,” meditation, and gratitude. (A clear mind is instrumental towards one’s ability to concentrate and focus. Other benefits include calming racing minds, anxiety relief, stress relief, more sound sleep, an anger channel, weight loss, and lower blood pressure. The class is based on a cumulative of programs for Stress Disorders and Trauma created by Veterans Yoga Project *Yoga practice does not cure Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), but it is profoundly helpful in managing the symptoms and creating a better life. Yoga can be a valuable and effective complementary therapy to professional treatment for PTS. Veterans contending with the symptoms of PTS can use yoga as a method to regain control over an always “on alert” nervous system as well as self-destructive behaviors and habits.***
