Morgen Thomascambio. YTT graduate and facultyMorgen teaches sociology, gerontology, and social psychology at the university and college levels. Her yoga journey began a year after undergoing spinal surgery in 2004. A few months into a regular practice, she noticed improvement in her balance, strength, flexibility, pain level, and mental state. Curious to learn more about the benefits of yoga, she completed a 200-hour hot yoga teacher certification in 2010, 200-hour vinyasa teacher certification in 2011, and 300-hour certification in yoga therapy in 2016. Morgen is a Yoga Alliance recognized and registered experienced yoga teacher and educator with special emphasis on serving nontraditional students, especially people with disabilities, our wizened elders, trauma survivors, and those living with chronic pain and progressive conditions. She is an OYI, certified through Matthew Sanford's Mind Body Solutions yoga school, which specializes in training yoga teachers to guide accessible yoga classes for people with disabilities. Morgen leads workshops on ethics and inclusion in the workplace as well as on adaptive yoga for disability and currently guides hot yoga, warm fusion, and adaptive yoga for disability classes - all with accessibility and safety in mind. Morgen is also a professional writer published in short fiction, creative nonfiction, journalism, and peer-reviewed academic research. Her first novel, a dark psychological horror story, was published in 2020. Morgen would love to have you in class - just be prepared for silly jokes. :)
