Buffalo + Sparrow Yoga Collective
Jae believes that each person has the capacity to grow through the process of Embodiment: the integration of all Parts of Body, Psyche, and Spirit. He also believes in the possibility for collective Liberation, and that through these contemplative practices, we can directly realize the Inter-dependence that we share with all beings and elements of our planet [and beyond]! Jae's classes draw from his background in Hatha Yoga, Buddhism, Indigenous Studies, and Somatic Psychology; they are foundational, balanced, and tailored for whoever is in the room. Expect to practice a holistic range of postures, breathwork, and meditation in an intuitively empowering and non-judgmental atmosphere.James honors and traces his lineages that come through the lands of South & East Asia and Abya Yala (Latin America). He is immensely grateful to have trained with some of the most experienced teachers in Colorado; in 2023, he completed Denver Yoga Underground’s 200-hour YTT with Derik Eselius and Beth Sanchez and a month-long Teacher’s Intensive with Richard Freeman & Mary Taylor. During the summer of 2024, he completed another 200-hour intensive with Carlos Holguín and Simón Rua of IKY Yoga in Colombia, where an integrative method of Tantra Yoga, Feldenkrais Method, and Mayan Kankeub is taught. Jae studies at Naropa University in the Somatic Counseling: Body Psychotherapy program, and weaves elements of Polyvagal Theory, Authentic Movement, Feldenkrais Method, and Body Mind Centering into his classes.
