About the Class

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that focuses on holding passive poses for an extended period, typically between 3 to 10 minutes. Unlike more dynamic forms of yoga, Yin Yoga targets the body's deeper connective tissues—ligaments, joints, bones, and fascia—rather than just the muscles. This practice is grounded in principles of traditional Chinese medicine, aiming to improve the flow of “chi” (life force) through the meridian pathways in the body. Key characteristics of Yin Yoga: Long Holds: Poses are held for several minutes, allowing for deep release and stretch. Passive Poses: Most postures are done seated or lying down, requiring little to no muscle engagement, and are supported by props when necessary. Focus on Flexibility: By targeting connective tissue, Yin Yoga helps to improve flexibility and joint mobility over time. Meditative Approach: The extended time spent in each pose encourages mindfulness, self-awareness, and meditation, helping to cultivate a calm mind. Yin Yoga is often seen as a complementary practice to more active or “yang” styles of yoga, such as Vinyasa or Ashtanga, balancing the body's energy. It's also suitable for people of all fitness levels, offering a relaxing yet deeply transformative practice. end your class, please cancel your registration or email hello@fulleryoga.com.  If you do not cancel your class you will be assessed a $25 fee.
