Stacey walked into Empowered Yoga in 2011 and immediately felt like she was home. She had been searching for a yoga school to take yoga teacher training in order to integrate yoga and mindfulness into her psychotherapy practice. Stacey had known how impactful yoga had been in helping her to regulate her mood and heal from trauma and she wanted to be able to share this experience with her patients she was treating. As a psychotherapist, Stacey was witnessing the limitations of cognitive therapy and intuitively knew that incorporating the body was key. However, she ended up gaining so much more than ever expected from Empowered. She has found community, friendship and a sense of belonging in addition to mindfulness, integration and ways to deal with everyday life.  Stacey's balanced Athlete classes are an integration of her empowered and psychotherapy training. Whether you are in her BA class or sitting in her office, what you will learn is mindfulness and awareness of mind, body and breath. Through a series of movements and incorporating breath you will walk out of the BA room feeling more integrated and inspired to take what you learn at Empowered into your everyday life.
