Ashtanga Morning (warm)

CLOSED

About the Class

Monday & Wednesday Class - Mysore only - Arrive any time Mysore yoga is a traditional, self-paced, self-practice approach to Ashtanga yoga that's open to all levels. This teaching style honors the differences of each practitioner.  This self-paced approach allows both beginners and seasoned practitioners to participate in the same class, benefiting from their own personal practice. It uses vinyasa to connect movements and postures with breath and introduces the concepts of drishtis (concentration or focus points) and bandhas (locks).   Saturday Class - Instructor Led + Mysore - Begin at 6:30am for New Students This teacher-led class is designed to challenge you mentally and physically, and is accessible for both beginners and seasoned yogis.    For the first hour, you will be guided through the half primary series spending time in each shape to refine with each breath. The same series of poses is practiced in every class with verbal cues and the opportunity to receive hands-on assistance from the instructor. This first hour of class concludes with the closing poses of the primary series OR you have the option to stay for the second hour and continue to the second half of the primary series in a “mysore-style” open practice forum.   The discipline of this practice will challenge both mind and body. The transitions you learn on the mat will translate into transitions in your day. You walk in challenged and leave empowered.    This class is recommended for new and experienced students alike. With Mysore, you can come at any point during the class time to practice and stay for as long as you need. Everyone moves at their own pace with individual guidance and optional hands-on adjustments from the teacher. The Ashtanga yoga sequence will be taught to the student, pose by pose, if they are new to the practice. This practice gifts you with a huge sense of independence, deep focus, and increased strength and flexibility.  Room temperature for all Ashtanga mornings is set to 80 degrees.
