Open Circus Practice

About the Class

MUST BE A CURRENT STUDENT OR HAVE ATTENDED CLASSES WITHIN THE PAST THREE MONTHS IN ORDER TO ATTEND.  Register for Open Pole Practice if you want to practice on the Pole. Open Circus Practice applies only to the aerial equipment.  Silks, Lyra, Sling, Trapeze,. Rope, or Loops: work on in the Circus open gym to practice the skills and sequences you’ve learned in class. Instructions on new skills will not be offered in this practice time. We recommend bringing a notebook to class to keep track of your skills and goals so you can have a plan for your open circus practice. Open practice is $15 per session; included in unlimited Yoga and Circus membership. Must have attended the weekly apparatus class or have trained at Studio Seva on the apparatus in order to practice in open gym. Safety is our number one priority, so this class is monitored and students will not be able to attend without proper prerequisites; refunds will not be offered, your pass will be ready for you to use once you are ready to practice on your own.  Instructor on site, but not for instruction of skills. Instructor will be available for spotting as needed. Absolutely no students teaching students; participants will be asked to leave open gym in the instance of students teaching or assisting other students. Please don't ask other students for help, spotting, or tips.  This is your time to be creative and flow on your own, putting together skills, combos, and transitions that you have been working so hard at!  $15 drop in; included in Unlimited Yoga and Circus Membership. Apparatus set-up will be attended to when you arrive for open practice. You can select your apparatus upon arrival. at least 5 minutes prior to start time.  Ages 16 and up 

Special Instructions

Please DO NOT sign up for this class if you have never been to Studio Seva. Text Joni for permission to attend if you have never attended a Circus class at Studio Seva but have classroom experience elsewhere.  PRE-REQUISITES AND RULES: Open Gym is provided for students of the studio to practice and improve in the moves they've learned in their group classes or private/semi-private lessons. For safety and liability reasons it is important that students not use this time to attempt moves they have not yet been taught by an instructor. It is also important that students not teach each other new moves. The instructor supervising the practice may, at their discretion, give tips and instruction to help with a move you are struggling with. They may also ask you to stop practicing a specific move if they deem by observation that you are not practicing safely. These rules are in place not to prevent students from advancing or enjoying their practice time but to keep all our students safe and injury free. Thank you for understanding.
